Steve Herschbach

I was born in the city of Anchorage in the Territory of Alaska on December 25, 1957. I developed an early interest in gold prospecting and mining. This interest led to the founding of Alaska Mining & Diving Supply by myself and a friend, Dudley Benesch. The company has expanded over the years to become Alaska's leading supplier of outdoor power products for work and fun.

Outside of business my main activities include prospecting and metal detecting. I am a member of the Alaska Miners Association, the Chugach Gem & Mineral Society, and the Alaska Treasure Seekers. I also have always been interested in computers, and enjoy working on websites. I am the webmaster for Alaska Mining & Diving Supply and have built the website at www.akmining.com into one of the most popular sites in Alaska. My prospecting has involved me in a mining project that is detailed at my website at www.moorecreek.com. I also have a website I am working on at www.recminer.com I work on as time allows as well as my past effort on the Herschbach Family Website. I am the moderator and frequent poster on the Alaska Gold Forum.

I plan on using www.herschbach.com in the future as my "play site" to post information relating to my interests in prospecting, metal detecting, and website development.
